On Prosperity, Peace and Purpose.
We
all were trained to put making money and our own well-being on the
back-burner. And What we need to realize is that Life is a win-win-win
event. our prosperity is the effect of exchange of our gifts/services
with others who benefit by it.
We live to move the creation of the whole forwards. There you can hook your vision to in a supportive way. I love what I learned from Jack Canfield. 3-part process to find your purpose and mission.
1. ask your self: what is your vision of a perfect world? That is the resonance of your natural purpose here.
2.step is What makes my heart sing/what activity do I really enjoy doing what makes me feel truly alive?
3.and from those two answers you define your purpose. Now you are not serving your own needs, but you created awareness that with serving your own needs you are serving the world to become a better place.
For me as an example, Step 1.My vision of the ideal world is to see people live a prosperous, purposeful and peaceful life Step 2.I have the highest feeling of aliveness when I share with others/teach what I learned about living in one's purpose. So my Life's purpose is "I am helping others to understand and apply their creative power so they can live fulfilling life.
Happy People=Peaceful World"

This is what I learn and teach - because I believe we have inherent capacity to grown into the full potential, like a tree or a flower grows and unfolds naturally into the full potential of that life-form. I believe we have the same life-force flowing through us and nudging us to grow to the best we can be, but we use the amazing gift of free will to decide not to grow as we could, but stay put...:)

Pricing your art is a self-worth issue
I need to come back to the subject of pricing your art and silk scarves. You need to honor your work, yourself.
If you are dissatisfied with the $$ value you get for your art and scarves, you need to look closer on following componenents of the pricing process.
1. who is your audience - the client profile and the product must match. you need to fish where the fish are. October is at the door and the best sales' time is coming your way for the next 3 month.
Remember what we were talking about in the course, have multi-tier product suit. Each of the shows you'll be going to have a specific type of consumer so prepare for the specific audience with a product that is price to satisfy your price expectation and gives the client more than she expects.
Little things like gift packaging and certificate of authenticity with the "story" of your art add value to you beautiful work.
Know your value and present it in the highest quality of product and service you are capable of delivering.

The months October to December are the golden quarter for
the retail business.
You, as the producing artist and crafts person will zero in
on this time while still enjoying the heat of the sun and sandy beaches – the
Christmas Time sales are to be planned now.
I am guiding you to efficiency and optimization of the
processes.
Following is to consider:
How many pieces of your work will you need to create for the
Christmas season?
The stores will turn the stock by the End September and you
will need to let them know and eventually negotiate how much of your work and
when is it the best time to deliver (Usually beginning October).
Once you know how many pieces you want to produce and when
you need to deliver, following steps are to complete:
Create a timeline for following parts of the process:
1.
Material order
2.
Production time
3.
Packaging order
4.
Certificate of authenticity and promotional
materials: design and order
5.
Finishing and Packaging time.
6.
Appointment with the store for delivery (ask for
feedback do they need biz. cards, stands for brochures or plastic
bags/giveaways.
7.
Delivery
Note:
I create concepts for each season with distinct theme. Most
of the art related outlets have frequent clients who are always looking for
something new; so get creative and think of theme or story that will make your
work different each season.
